Ducati’s MotoGP operation is not in jeopardy, the company confirmed after circulating talk that the German automaker might off‑load parts of its portfolio, including the iconic motorcycle brand. The CEO, Claudio Domenicali, told Australian outlet MCNews the Italian manufacturer is "in very good shape" and financially self‑sufficient, meaning it does not rely on its parent’s backing to fund new bike development.
Earlier, a Volkswagen spokesperson hinted at a "profound transformation" across all its brands, but did not specifically name Ducati’s racing programme. Domenicali emphasized that no discussions are underway in Borgo Panigale about a sale, and while a future change in ownership is not impossible, any such move would not affect the MotoGP team’s current plans.

The reassurance means Ducati can continue its investment roadmap and maintain its competitive presence in the premier class, a welcome sign for the sport’s followers and for the brand’s standing as a MotoGP staple.
