DJ Alan Walker has debuted a new F1-themed song, 'The Sting Within Me', at the Barcelona Grand Prix. The song was inspired by the atmosphere of a race weekend and features samples of F1 sounds. Walker worked with F1 and Sting, a brand owned by PepsiCo, to create the song, which is part of a push to appeal to a younger audience of fans.
The song's lyrics reference the excitement and energy of F1, with lines like 'Charged like lightning, the spark igniting' and 'We'll drive until the tyres burn'. Walker performed the song live for the first time after F1 qualifying in the Fanzone.
The release of the song is part of F1's efforts to target a younger fan base, with a focus on Gen Z and a more female-led audience. F1's head of partnership management, Joe Selfe, stated that the sport is now up to 830 million fans worldwide, with a significant portion of the new fan base coming from a younger demographic.
