Andrea Caldarelli claimed pole for the Michelin GT Challenge at Virginia International Raceway, driving the #9 Lamborghini Temerario GT3 for Pfaff Motorsports.
His fastest lap of 1:44.773 around the 3.27-mile, 18-turn road course marked his third career IMSA pole. Nicky Catsburg, piloting the #4 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R for Corvette Racing, completed the front row with a lap just 0.045 seconds off Caldarelli’s time.
The grid is set for Saturday’s race, where the GTD class field will battle for the win at one of IMSA’s most technical circuits.
