Marco Bezzecchi has led the opening practice for the 2026 Dutch MotoGP at Assen, returning to action after being banned from the previous round. The Italian rider, who currently leads the championship, set the fastest time ahead of Pecco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin.
Marc Marquez, who has cut 62 points from Bezzecchi's advantage in the past two rounds, crashed at the final chicane but managed to finish tenth.

The practice session saw several riders try out new aero packages, with Assen being the first race since the ban on front holeshot devices. The grid format will also change from the next round, with bigger spacing between the rows.
