Pecco Bagnaia narrowly avoided a Turn 1 pileup at Balaton Park on Sunday to secure his third consecutive MotoGP podium. Starting fifth, Bagnaia’s early wheelspin dropped him behind Jorge Martin’s Aprilia heading into the first corner. Martin then lost control, triggering a crash that took out four other riders, while Bagnaia remained clear.
Bagnaia quickly moved through the field, overtaking Honda’s Diogo Moreira and Luca Marini to claim third place. He acknowledged the race’s early chaos worked in his favor, noting his lack of grip all weekend limited his pace compared to Marc Márquez and Pedro Acosta. Bagnaia settled for third once it became clear he couldn’t challenge for the lead.

The Ducati rider now sits seventh in the championship standings. He admitted his survival was down to luck, emphasizing that avoiding the crash was the priority after a difficult weekend with limited grip.
