The USS Minnesota, a Virginia-class submarine, has completed its first deployment as the Navy's first forward-deployed boat of its class. The submarine returned to Naval Base Guam on July 29, marking the end of a successful deployment that showcased the Navy's advanced capabilities in the Indo-Pacific.
During its deployment, the Minnesota participated in several exercises, including Valiant Shield 2026, a multinational field training exercise, and Exercise Lungfish, a bilateral tracking drill with the Royal Australian Navy. The submarine also made port visits to Japan and Australia, demonstrating its flexibility and readiness.

The deployment was a significant milestone for the Minnesota's crew, with 20 enlisted sailors and two officers earning their submarine warfare insignia. The crew's professionalism and effectiveness were praised by their commanders, who noted that they represented the Navy with pride throughout the deployment.
