The US has launched self-defense strikes against Iran in response to the downing of a US Army Apache helicopter. The helicopter was shot down near the Strait of Hormuz, and its crew was rescued by a drone boat. The US Central Command announced that its forces began launching self-defense strikes against Iran at 5 p.m. ET, in response to yesterday's downing of the Apache helicopter. The mission is a proportional response to unjustified Iranian aggression.
Iranian state media has reported explosions in several parts of the country, including the Sirik port area and Qeshm Island. The IRGC-connected Tasnim news agency said Tehran will retaliate for the ongoing US strikes.
