President Donald Trump has promised to give Ukraine a license to assemble its own Patriot interceptors. However, producing the missiles will take many months, if not years, due to various hurdles. The production of Patriot interceptors is a complex process, with long lead times for components such as solid rocket motors and active radar seekers.
The Ukrainian company Fire Point is working on a domestically designed and produced anti-ballistic shield, but it still needs radars, command centers, and a secure data link to make it combat-capable. Meanwhile, the global demand for Patriot interceptors has exploded, with the US and other countries facing shortages.

The transfer of technology and supply chain issues will drive the pace of Ukraine's production of Patriot interceptors. However, becoming a Patriot producer would be a significant win for Ukraine, providing it with a level of security it currently lacks and potentially boosting its economy.
