Ukraine’s former defense minister Mykhailo Fedorov is joining Palantir CEO Alex Karp to launch a defense technology venture, the two announced Tuesday. Fedorov, removed from office in July amid public outcry over his dismissal, confirmed he would not return to government and will instead focus on building a defense investment fund and advising Italy’s Ministry of Defense.
The new company will leverage Fedorov’s wartime experience with Ukraine’s battlefield management system Delta, which integrates drone feeds, radar, and field data into a real-time command dashboard. Palantir’s Maven Smart System, used by over half a dozen Ukrainian agencies, provides a similar AI-driven approach to battle planning. Karp, who visited Kyiv shortly after Russia’s 2022 invasion, called the partnership a chance to expand their five-year collaboration.
Fedorov emphasized Ukraine remains his top priority despite the new international role. The venture could draw billions in investment, given Palantir’s 93% year-over-year revenue growth last quarter and a valuation surpassing $440 billion, largely fueled by U.S. government contracts.
