President Donald Trump secretly switched planes in Turkey last month due to an Iranian assassination threat. Trump was transferred from Air Force One to a military plane via a catering truck.
The operation was prompted by the Secret Service, and Trump stated that he followed their direction. The White House did not disclose the change, and it remained a secret until The Washington Post reported it.
Trump was accompanied by several close aides during the transfer, including White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino and executive assistant Natalie Harp. The president downplayed the risk, saying the plane he ultimately flew on was more vulnerable than Air Force One.
