The U.S. Space Force Honor Guard debuted its new ceremonial service dress uniform over the weekend at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington, D.C. The updated ensemble replaces the modified Air Force service uniform worn since the branch’s 2019 establishment.
Chief Master Sgt. Ross Koehler, senior enlisted leader of the Space Force Honor Guard, called the uniform a deliberate step toward a distinct visual identity. The design preserves the Space Force’s core identity while incorporating elements from the service flag and existing uniforms, including the Operational Camouflage Pattern name tag. Key features include a blue belt, cap, and rope draped over the left shoulder.
The uniform’s introduction follows eight months of refinement after guidance was released in mid-January. Koehler emphasized its role in presenting a unified presence during high-visibility missions, reflecting the force’s evolving culture and pride.
