A new computer wargame, American Revolutionary War, depicts the battles of the American Revolution with 148 scenarios. The game is part of the Musket & Pike series and features a 114-page user manual, making it a highly detailed simulation of 18th Century European-style warfare.
The game includes units such as Continental regulars, local militia, British regulars, German mercenaries, Loyalist troops, and Native American allies, each rated for their quality and weaponry. Players alternate turns, with each turn representing about 15 minutes of real time, and conduct movement and fire combat, followed by a melee phase to resolve assaults.

The game's designer, Mike Cox, notes that both the British and Americans were capable of assuming various formations, and mastering light troops is crucial for success. The game also features historical commanders, rated from A to F, who can rally broken troops and provide morale bonuses.
