Lockheed Martin is reacting to the Department of War's challenge to transform the defense industrial base by investing in production capacity to accelerate munitions facilities. The company's Missiles and Fire Control division is boosting production of PAC-3 MSE, THAAD, and Precision Strike Missile lines to meet urgent demand.
The company has invested more than $7 billion since President Donald Trump's first term to expand capacity for priority systems. Lockheed Martin aims to dramatically cut timelines for producing advanced weapons, with the manufacturing process typically taking three years from contract signature to delivery.
The company is working with the Department of War to identify contract actions, suppliers, and investments needed to accelerate production. Lockheed Martin is also increasing its workforce and using robotics and additive manufacturing techniques to reduce reliance on traditional tooling.
