US Army Gen. Christopher Donahue will relinquish command of Army Europe and Africa on July 2, 2026. Donahue, who oversaw the service's operations across Europe and Africa, will be replaced by Maj. Gen. Christopher Norrie.
The reason for the abrupt leadership change was not provided by the Army. Donahue's exit comes amid the Pentagon's broad senior leadership changes under Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Donahue's departure marks the latest in a series of senior military leader removals by Hegseth, including former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. C.Q. Brown and former Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti.
